Packaging Terms

Packing refers to the way the product is packaged and (in some cases) the way it is intended to be sold. Pay very close attention to this. Some product is not meant for retail sales and in fact could potentially cause legal problems for the seller if it is not sold in the way the publisher originally intended. This is especially true with "oem" software.

(retail box) - retail box, just like the store.
(mini retail box) - smaller size retail box, about the size of a dvd box.
(DVD style box) - DVD box just like a DVD movie comes in. DVD boxes are especially popular in the United Kingdom. The CD is NOT a DVD type disc unless it is specifically stated. It is normal CD-ROM.
(brown box) - this comes in a plain brown box. Same program and manuals that you would get in full retail box.
(AE) - Academic box. Academic product is typically meant to be sold to school and universities and is not meant to be sold for business use. For educational use only.
(jc) - Jewel Case - includes color cover.
(jc, nc) - Jewel Case, no cover.
(jb) - Jewel Case with separate book.
(sl) - cd in a sleeve, no cover.

Oem Product - For Bundling only and is not for retail sale. OEM product cannot be sold on a stand alone basis on your website or auctions.

(oem) - for bundling only. Includes black and white or color cover. (oem product typically says 'for distribution with a new pc only).
(oem, nc) - for bundling only. Does not include a cover. (oem product typically says 'for distribution with a new pc only).
(oem, bk) - for bundling only. comes with a separate book. (oem product typically says 'for distribution with a new pc only).

Other
(NFR) - Not for resale - This is product that is not for retail or oem distribution. It is for your in-house use only. We offer NFR product from time to time for our resellers personal use. This is unlicensed software and is not intended for ANY kind of resale.
